CEAg Talks: A Bill to Create an Investment Tax Credit for Growers

In this CEAg Talk, CEA Alliance Senior Policy Advisor Colin O’Neil explains the Supporting Innovation in Agriculture Act, a bipartisan bill that he feels would be transformative for CEA growers and boost the industry’s growth in the United States. The bill would offer a tax credit to growers, applicable to 30% of the capital expenses required to build a new farm or retrofit an existing one. “In general, Washington has been sitting on the sidelines. We’ve seen very few policies adopted or changed to address the unique needs of indoor or CEA growers,” O’Neil says.
