Sunmaster Produce Begins Phase 4 of Its Greenhouse Project

Construction on Sunmaster Produce‘s greenhouse expansion project in Chatham, Ontario, first began on July 1, 2026, with an expected completion date scheduled for January 2027. Currently, foundation work has been started for the project’s fourth phase, which will add 5.5 acres of Venlo greenhouse space to the existing facility complex. This project is part of a larger development plan for Sunmaster Produce, which will eventually bring the total greenhouse area to a total of 31 acres, which will be used for the cultivation of bell peppers.

In addition to current fourth-phase work, the retrofitting of the third phase, covering 13 acres of the greenhouse complex, is nearing completion. Future landmarks of the project include the delivery and installation of a climate control system and a screen system handled by Universal Fabricating, a company that supplies commercial greenhouse structures and solutions for growers in North America.
