Registration is now open for the 2026 Strawberry School Online, held by The Ohio State University and running from Oct. 1, 2026, to Jan. 10, 2027.
What Students Will Learn From Strawberry School Online
Strawberry School Online provides attendees with the knowledge and tools needed to learn soilless production of strawberries within greenhouses and indoor controlled environments. Throughout the course, students will learn how to:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of strawberry production physiology
- Familiarize themselves with greenhouse and vertical farming strawberry crop technologies and practices
- Integrate horticultural scientific principles into a better understanding of soilless strawberry production.
The course will consist of six lectures that cover the basics of strawberry physiology and production practices:
- Introduction to CEA Strawberry Production and Cultivars
- Planting Materials and Basic Physiology of Flowering
- Planning Your Planting Date and Finishing Date
- Nutrient Solutions and Substrates
- Environmental Conditions and Benchmark Yields
- IPM, Plant Management, and Environmental Disorders.
The 2026 Strawberry School Online will be led by instructors Dr. Chieri Kubota and Mark Kroggel.
