Dutch firms Signify and Alpine Green will invest $200 million in Nuevo Leon (a northern Mexican state) for a greenhouse automation project focused on growing lettuce. Nuevo Leon Governor Samuel Garcia spoke on social media that the investment will be used to build greenhouses in Galeana.

Reuters reports that, in addition to the Signify and Alpine Greens, Van der Hoeven, a developer of smart greenhouses, will take part in investing $70 million in the first phase of the project, which aims to make Galeana a strategic hub for CEA, with fully automated facilities that employ advanced lighting technology from Signify.

Nuevo Leon is currently working on a strategic partnership with Alpine Green, an investment fund focused on scaling sustainable CEA projects, to move the project forward.
