Revol Greens Warns of Potential Closure

Revol Greens could close its remaining greenhouse operations and eliminate more than 200 jobs this fall unless the greenhouse lettuce producer secures a sale or additional funding.
Revol Greens MN LLC filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice with Minnesota officials Aug. 5 stating that, barring a successful sale of the site or company, it “must close” its Medford, Minn., greenhouse on Oct. 4. The filing says the closure would be permanent and affect an estimated 89 employees if Revol has not been sold or received incremental funding by that date.
The company is facing a similar situation at its Texas greenhouse. Revol notified officials of 115 potential layoffs there on Oct. 4 without a sale or new investment, according to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.
Revol says the WARN actions are not a definitive announcement that the company is shutting down. Interim CFO Michaele Gobel characterized the notice as a precautionary step reflecting a potential outcome, while the company said its greenhouses would continue operating during the 60-day WARN period as it evaluates transactions that could preserve the business and Revol Greens brand.
The company attributed its current difficulties in part to market disruption following the Cyclospora outbreak linked to lettuce grown in Mexico. Revol products were not implicated, and the company continues to state publicly that its products are not affected by the outbreak.
The latest development follows Revol’s closure of its California greenhouse in late 2025, which affected 42 employees.
