Windset Farms has begun planting at its new 38-acre, ultra-lit greenhouse in Delta, British Columbia. Built for year-round production, the operation incorporates advanced growing technology to improve crop performance and operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impact.
This expansion increases Windset Farms’ Delta operation to 130 acres, including 86 acres of ultra-lit greenhouse production. This total operation acreage makes the site the largest lit vegetable greenhouse facility in Western North America. With this additional capacity, the company now owns and operates 298 acres of greenhouse production in Canada and the U.S.
“This investment reflects our continued commitment to controlled-environment agriculture, advanced growing technology, and delivering the premium quality, flavor, consistency, service, and year-round supply our customers expect from Windset Farms,” the company said in its announcement of the milestone on LinkedIn.
The first crops at the new facility are expected to be harvested within the coming weeks.
