Oishii has announced a new top-seal packaging for its Nikko Berry strawberries. The new 7.5-ounce pack is designed to keep crops fresh, reduce plastic use, and improve product protection when compared to conventional packaging designs.
The new top-seal packaging format was first featured at Natural Products Expo West 2026 and will debut in retail stores later this month.
Details on the New Nikko Berry Strawberry Packaging
The new packaging reduces plastic use by more than 80%, replacing a conventional plastic clamshell design paired with a cardboard tray and a lightweight seal. In addition to offering added protection during shipping and handling, the top-seal packaging format also provides a streamlined, more modern retail appearance for consumers.
Lastly, the launch of the new packaging design also features a new freshness guarantee. Printed on the packaging, the guarantee offers customers a 10-day promise after harvest, with company contact information listed if the product does not meet quality standards.
